It’s International Time Travel Day! Obviously I love time travel! I’ve written five books that involve travel through time (Out of Time, Girl Gone Nova, Tangled in Time, Steamrolled, and Kicking Ashe).

Last week I did a blog about why not to travel through time. This week I’d like to propose reasons to time travel:

1. Getting the girl/guy (Somewhere in Time, Kate & Leopold)
2. Defeating bad guys (Time after Time, Frequency, Girl Gone Nova, Steamrolled, Kicking Ashe, Time and Again)
3. To reset a franchise (new Star Trek movie)
4. To make sure you get born (Time Rider)
5. Make a better life for your parents and yourself (Back to the Future)
6. To save whales and your future! (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)
7. Because you can (Doctor Who)
8. Making the best of a bad situation (any book/show/movie where time travel is accidental!)

Tell me your reasons TO travel through time and be entered to win a digital edition of Tangled in Time, my  time travel/steampunk/science fiction mashup. And while you’re thinking up reasons, let’s have some video:

By no coincidence, today is also the birthday of Albert Einstein, author of the “space and time bend” theory.

Perilously,
Pauline

Pauline has only traveled forward in time (when she flew to England). This didn’t mess with her future or her past, though she did get jet lag. She has written 12 novels, but only 5 involve time travel. You can find out more about her and her books at www.paulinebjones.com

“Jones concludes her Project Universe series with this fun, fast-paced tale. Ashe is a tough, no-frills heroine with plenty of spunk and a lovable companion, her nanite Lurch, who steals the show with his snark. Filled with plenty of humor and sexual tension, this quick read is ideal for lovers of sci fi romance.” RT Book Reviews

Many thanks for stopping by, Cheryl! It is totally fun to write, isn’t it? I have not read Lightning! Will have to check that out! 🙂

I’m writing a time travel now, Pauline. It’s a departure for me, but oh! so much fun. I used to love that series Voyagers, where the kid and the hunk traveled around in time to correct mistakes. My favorite time travel novel of all, though, is LIGHTNING by Dean Koontz. It’s a wonderful romance, too.

@ Phyllis – Simple has HUGE appeal some days, though I am rather fond of my plumbing and my technology. LOL

@ Anna – what we did is go back in time, or maybe it was forward and picked the day. LOL!

@ Donna – Yeah, and they’d all be different ages! LOL!

I like to time travel to experience different times and places and one night stands with alot of different sexy men. The only problem I can see, would be explaining all these children. dmf747@comcast.net

Happy Time Travel Day! I did not know. Thanks, Pauline!

    So, why?

Why NOT! Yay! Particularly if you get to travel with the Doctor. I wished for a Tardis when I was a kid.

I’d love to Time Travel in reverse to go back to the days that were much simpler, not so complicated. They may have been much harder, but we had less interference in our lives. Maybe that’s oversimplifying it, but, what can I say, it’s the romantic in me. Especially the old west. I just love those rugged cowboys! Time Travel in the future, well, to find those amazing handsome alien men of course. If only, huh! Happy Day! 🙂

Hi, Mel and Happy TT day to you, too! That is a good reason to travel through time. I expect we’d be quite shocked what’s real. LOL! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy time travel day!! Happy birthday Al!!
Love your reasons for time travel! Another reason I can think of….To get the Real history. With all the points of views and each persons’s spin on it, it makes it hard to know the absolute truth. Would love something like the time travel from Harry Potter where they take the memory from the cauldron and go visit it. Talk about a cool history class!
