There Ought to be a Law

Policing the Renfest

Against a month going by this fast. It can NOT be the end already! I was going to get so much more done! What is is about January? We start it with such hope and optimism. We make resolutions (well, some do. This year I didn’t. I have considerable evidence my time is better spent.), we make plans. We whine about the weather. And the Christmas bills. And the weather.
Polar Vortex? Wow, who was bored and looking for some drama?

And now it’s over. February is about to begin. Soon we’ll be whining about what to do about Valentine’s Day. As the last few hours of January trickle away, feel free to register your last whine-one-one here in my comments section. All whines accepted and sympathized with. And they are your last chance to be entered into my drawing for an AnaBanana gift basket ($25 value). The winner will be announced in my next blog post. In February.  Because January is almost over. There ought to be a law.

  1. I am sick of the weather here in VA too! I can’t wait for summer again so my kids can go back to playing outside more. My other whine is that March is coming up and is a busy month for us. My oldest will turn 10, my youngest will turn 2, my husband and I both turn 28 on the same day, and our 5 year wedding anniversary is 3 days before that!

    1. Yeah, those are some good whines! March is one of those months that feels SO long. I know it isn’t longer than any of the other 31 day months, but it just feels like it is! Congrats on five years!!! And Happy Birthday(s)!!!

  2. So I’ll see your polar vortex and raise you a bleeping drought. This is supposed to be our wet season. 100mm of rain and up from there. Last year it was 400mm (that’s about 16″ if you’re American) This year we’d be lucky to have had a lousy inch. The grass is brown and crunchy. But – I’ve written rather a lot. What was that about clouds and linings?

  3. Today is mine and my husband’s 16th wedding anniversary. The history of our anniversaries is – if we make plans, it snows. So this year we just talked about making plans. It is snowing right now. Who gets married in January in SW Iowa anyway? Snow and anniversaries should not coincide!

So, at the same time I am whining about the weather, I am glad that January is ending and celebrating my anniversary!

    1. Congratulations! And hugs! LOL We got married the last day of finals, then had finals for our anniversary until we left school behind. It is totally with it to be whining about the weather right now. I think it is the national past time! LOL

  4. I don’t know what is ‘fast’ and ‘slow’ anymore; my Spidey-time sense is totally skewed. But I’m ready for February.

By the way, I just realized your initials are PBJ, hehehe! My second-favorite sammich! (Favorite being a Reuben.)
