Project Enterprise 5
Steam Time:
The man formerly known as Tobias Smith hadn’t planned to ride along with Dr. Everly and his Medicine Show. Grifters gave him a pain their elixirs couldn’t heal. But he was headed to Marfa, too. And Everly’s “son” turned out to be a really fine looking damsel—one in distress when the ghost lights of Marfa bump them into an alternate reality complete with an automaton gang and airships. Could he be the good guy? Be the hero, save the day and get the girl?
"While all four stories are written well, Steam Time stands out from the rest." 4 stars Manic Readers
"The characters are warm and the story complete with mystery, conflict and romance even though it is just a short story. I particularly liked this one because Tobias Smith is a character from The Key and Girl Gone Nova which are two other stories of Pauline's that I really like." Martha Reads, Rating: 4.5
"I enjoyed all the stories in Dreamspell but I did have a favorite. I had just finished Steamrolled by Pauline Baird Jones when I read her story in Dreamspell. Steam Time is a side story in the Steamrolled Universe." Mixed Book Bag

Do Wah Diddy Die Already

Getting a Clue
Winner of New England Book Festival for Best Anthology!
A Hatfield and a McCoy had a better chance of getting together than a Trapini and a Molony, but there's not enough chocolate in the world to stop the heart from wanting what it wants.
Breaking news! All my short stories will be released in three collections: Project Enterprise, Romance and Mystery!
While I began my adventures in writing with short stories, I moved on and didn't plan on re-visiting the short form, but life decreed otherwise.
Short stories are challenging, fitting a whole story-especially one of mine-in the confines of a short story is sometimes painful!
So why did I do it? Partly peer pressure (members of my writing group wouldn't let me say no) and partly necessity. Short stories are a good way to get through rough times and take less time than my BABs.
In any case, I appreciate my publisher finding homes (many of them) for my short fiction and hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed writing them.
