Pauline Baird Jones, author, writer, romantic suspense author, science fiction romance author
I was ready to hunt aliens or vampires. Wait, need a stake…

One of my favorite authors is Linnea Sinclair. She was the one who got me hooked on reading science fiction romance novels. I was so excited when she optioned Down Home Zombie Blues. And here’s the trailer for (title changed) Down Home Alien Blues:

And in keeping with alien theme, here are some “alien” links for your friday entertainment:

The Galaxy Express – Heather Massey is blogger and author of all things geeky, science fictiony, comic-y, and beyond. A must stop during my week.

And I collected these links while blogging about things Roswell last April:

The Roswell Chamber of Commerce

Hope you aren’t feeling too alienated. Okay, I know that was lame, but I threw it in while I think up some better questions. Let’s see, would you go see/rent Down Home Alien Blues? (Please say yes, because if it does well, they’ll make more science fiction romance movies!). Do you believe? Favorite SF or SFR novel? Author?

I love comments and reward those who pause to reflect and share by entering them into the drawing for my monthly $10 gift card of sweet scented wonderfulness from AnaBanana Bath & Body Treats. I announce the winner in the first blog post of the new month, but it also helps if you leave a contact email. 🙂

The book was so fun, I’m hoping the adaptation is as good! There’s always a worry, of course, but it does sound fun, doesn’t it?

Science fiction has never been my thing but with an added romance twist, I may need to give this genre a second chance…hmmmmm….

If you like action adventure at all, you’d like her books. She wrote one called Accidental Goddess that just cracked me up. But nice romantic elements and just a fun adventure story. That’s what you get with Linnea. 🙂

The movie looks like fun. I have to read the book now! I started reading Andre Norton when I was in middle school. I wrote my master’s thesis on her works. Anne McCaffrey was one of my other favorites, and I can’t wait to see what her first Dragonriders of Pern movie looks like (fx technology wasn’t ready for it when they first optioned it, IMHO). I read as much SF as I could get my hands on before kids. I took SF lit courses in college and grad school–I wasn’t about to pass those up. 🙂

Some readers weren’t as enamored of this book of hers, but I love all of Linnea Sinclair’s books and I enjoyed the quirky, first contact nature of it. Some day I’d like to write a first contact story and do it as well! Can’t wait for the movie to release!
