Today is National Pink Day. I did not know that Pink had its own day. Does Pink have a lobby? A fan club? Corporate sponsors? And what about the colors that don’t have their own day? Of course, there are a lot of colors. When “they” (which “they” decide a color gets its own day?) are picking color days, which crayon box do “they” use? Cuz that big sucker box—every day would be a color day, leaving no room for other days.
That would be a pity because June has a bubble day, donut day, skate day, log cabin day and a Donald Duck Day. And a nice finish with a meteor day. I feel sorry for the months that don’t have a meteor day.
How do you get your own day?
When I started this post, I was, “Hey, I want my own day!” But on reflection, I’m not sure I’m up to the pressure of having a Day. Pink and bubbles, etc, they can just sit their and bask in the glory of having a day, but people might have to do something.
I’m not sure what that something would be.
What are the requirements for having a day?
The main one seems to be, um, dying. Not quite ready for that.
I’m thinking I’d rather not have my own day. I could totally get behind a National Hermit Day, however. It would be a day set aside for not talking to anyone or going anywhere. If we had a convention (which we wouldn’t), it would be from home, of course. Workshops could include such topics as “How Not to Get into Chatrooms,” and “Avoiding Eye Contact With People Which Will Negate Actual Talking.”
Did you know it was National Pink Day? If you had a “day” what would it be? Ideas for Hermit courses for the hermit non-convention? I love comments! I love them so much, enter them into my monthly drawing for an AnaBanana gift basket ($25 value) of awesome (“everything is awesome,” yes, I saw The Lego Movie). A winner will be announced the first blog post of the new month.
“Moonlighting meets The Terminator.”
My first new novel in NINE months! And you can buy it right now! (grin)
