Our topic for “Wishing for a Wormhole” friday is “song stuck in my head syndrome.” There is no known cure for the syndrome and the only way I know how to get a stuck song out of my head is to replace it with a better one. But have you noticed how hard it is to get the gnarly ones out? Every time I reach for something and I’m not tall enough, Short People starts to play in my head and then I have go to the headphones to get it unstuck. Seriously.

And thanks to my sister, I now get Guy on a Buffalo stuck in there, too. Don’t click over unless you’re prepared to take the consequences! Let’s see, other contenders are:

  • The Lion Sleeps Tonight
  • I’m a Little Teapot
  • Proud Mary

This is just a short list, because I thought it would be fun to turn this over to you. Share the songs you hate getting stuck in your head and your techniques for unsticking them.

Besides the therapeutic value here, I also enter all comments in my monthly drawing for a $10 AnaBanana gift card. Winner is announced the first blog post of the new month.

I hate getting songs stuck in my head. Usually, I just distract myself. My hubby, on the other hand, always has to listen to the song stuck in his head. Then he’s good.

Wow, I have never tried listening to the whole song to get it out. Though I have to say, that does not work for Guy on a buffalo. it just comes back and back. LOL

Oh, thanks so much for mentioning “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”; it had just left. Great post, Pauline!

This makes me laugh. I do it all the time, but with commercials. Ugh, so annoying. 🙂
