Because it is ONLY NINE days until the release of Embrace the Romance: Pets in Space 2, and because I can’t contain my excitement for readers to be able to dive into this anthology of 12 original stories, I’m having another contest with more giveaways from the Perilous Pauline Zazzle Shop!

(Isn’t Zazzle a great word? It’s sounds so Zazzley.)

Last month you “periled with Pauline” and I had so much fun handing out tee shirts and totes! For the next two weeks we’ll be playing “Where’s Sir Rupert?”

Who is Sir Rupert you ask? Here’s a bit about Sir Rupert:

He is the “pet” in my story, “Time Trap” in Embrace the Romance: Pets in Space 2

He’s a parrot. Well, sort of.

I mean, he is a parrot, but Sir Rupert is so much more. Read this early review from Goodreads (who still thinks I’m dead):

“But my Favorite of all was Sir Rupert in Time Trap – who would expect the super intelligent, super spy to be a quirky parrot? And his bodyguard an ass kicking time traveler …Brilliant …..”

Because he is wily, you’ll have to bring your “periling with Pauline” skills to the hunt for him on my website.

Here’s the scoop:

  1. There are FIVE Sir Rupert hidden around my website.

  2. For each Sir Rupert you find, you get ONE entry into a drawing for Perilous Pauline tees or totes OR you can pick the amazingly awesome Embrace the Romance: Pets in Space tee shirt featuring all the pets or a Sir Rupert tote. Whatever you pick, it’s the Zazzle.

  3. The drawing will be held on Oct 14th, 2017 during a Dead Author Live Video (on Facebook). Don’t worry if you can’t watch. I’ll be contacting drawing winners privately. 🙂

And here’s a clue for Sir Rupert hunters: He’s hidden on five different book pages.

I’ll be back on Friday with another clue!

And here’s an excerpt for “Time Trap:”

Her shoulder was out just far enough to catch a blast that almost spun her away from the door. That wasn’t a stun. But not a kill shot either. She staggered from the hit and pain but managed to stick it. Sir Rupert gave a soft squawk.

“You hit?” She pressed in closer, angling to protect him, fired off some shots and hit the control to open the door, ignoring the pain spreading out from her shoulder and trying to cloud her thinking.

“No.”

She fired another spread, then the door opened at her back, and they were inside the closet. The door closed and she fired on it, aiming at the handle and hinges until they glowed bright red. Only then did she reach up and try to flash out.

Not a huge shock when they didn’t.

Might be damage from the hit, but most likely the opposition closed the hole they used to get in. Also meant their intel on the suit was wrong. Or they’d upgraded for it already, but—

“Blocked?” Sir Rupert asked, making his way back to her shoulder.

“Yeah.” She should have tried to jump sooner—

“They locked this place down before they started firing,” Sir Rupert said as if he knew what she was thinking. Which he probably did. He was that smart. He didn’t waste time bemoaning the failure of the suit to perform as advertised.

Multiple shots made the metal door rattle in its frame. They had maybe thirty seconds. Probably less.

“The transport pad,” Sir Rupert said.

“Why did I know you were going to say that?”

To find out what happens next, you gotta get your own copy of  Embrace the Romance: Pets in Space 2. I’m mean that way. Lol!

Are you ready to grab your copy yet? Because you won’t just find out how my story ends. You get to read 12 original stories with pets, romance, and adventure in space! And you’ll be helping a wonderful charity: Hero-Dogs.org.

I love comments so much that I pick a favorite to receive a $25 gift card from my Zazzle store. Yup, this is in addition to my Sir Rupert game. The recipient is announced in the first blog post of the new month.

Oh, wait! That’s this post! September winner is:

Misa Buckley!

Congrats, Lisa and thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! I’ll be in touch with you about how to get your gift certificate. 🙂

That’s all for today!

Perilously yours,

Pauline
