So we’re two weeks into August and two weeks into #AugustAudio. So far August is winning the most. It always kicks me around, but one thing I do to escape August is put on the headphones and slide into an audio book. Listening to a book is a fun experience—and very different to reading a book. I’ve really come to appreciate the slower approach that allows me to savor the words the author wrote.
My very first novel (both finished and to be published), was The Spy Who Kissed Me. It was the novel originally known as Pig in a Park. My publisher wanted me to change the title and when someone asked me about the “pig in a poke” book, I decided she was right. lol
I’ve written here and here about Spy, so I won’t do it again. I’ll just say that it’s the perfect, light summer “listen” for August. You can check out a sample of it here. And yes, I know the cover is different. There’s a story there, but too hot to type it down. lol
Here’s a quick blurb for The Spy Who Kissed Me:
Her mama has been hoping a man would fall in Stan’s lap. But when a handsome spy dives through the sunroof of her car, Isabel “Stan” Stanley’s pretty sure this wasn’t what momma had in mind.
Not convinced? (Really?) Here’s what RTBook Reviews had to say about it:
“. . . . a remarkable new talent . . .written in first person, this adventurous romp is a 14 karat gem, and I for one would love to see more from this vastly amusing author.”
So give me a quick comment and you’ll be on the list for a free audio edition of The Spy Who Kissed Me. I’ll hand out seven (and if you already have it, no worries! Just tell me your alternate choice and I’ll see what I can do.)
May the sound be with your reading this month! And be sure to check back on Friday!
